Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Boiled sweets, green jelly babies, persimmon. Good oily maltiness then golden syrup, damp coffee grounds and a charred wood note. Impressive.

Palate: Medium to full. A sweet start, then a concentration of Victoria plum jam in cenre of the tongue. Oily weight, plump fruits. gains more oiliness with water.

Finish: Long and smooth.

Comment: A solid performer with good balanceand character.

Score: 8

Taster

Nose: Intense. Takes you straight to the woods. Musty. Humus. Damp wood. Getting nutty. Walnut stain. Dry walnut. Obvious sherry influence.

Palate: Dry at first then opening on sweet fruit and licorice. Raisins and nuts toffee. Spicy. Well structured.

Finish: Dry and spicy. Refreshing. A little astringency which is not unpleasant.

Comment: A well balanced dram, definitely autumnal. To sip on a quiet evening, with a piece of chocolate, listening to some serious Bach.
