Taster

Nose: Meaty, with copper notes, Oxo cubes, and dark chocolate orange fudge notes. Given time in the glass, a slight smoked chocolate note emerges.

Palate: A very creamy note, leading into a sappy, youthful green note, acacia honey and a touch of golden syrup. Some soapy carbolic smoke notes develop further in.

Finish: Light, with a distinct malty note resonating.

Comment: Solid enough, with masculine notes and a sweeter smoky centre.

Score: 7.9

Taster

Nose: Pungent, manure, coffee and lightly sulphured. Hints of herbal and lightly cardboardy spice follow. A little industrial but some dried fruit and honey try to counter.

Palate: Soft and toffeed with hints of dried fruit. Again, industrial with a slight wet cardboard intimation. Thankfully there is thick fruit to offer some balance plus white liquorice and honey. \n

Finish: Mouth-watering, mineral and a little hot with lingering liquorice and light spice notes.

Comment: Not exactly my favoured style of whisky but it has fruit and sweetness to balance the ‘spirit’ character.
