Quite characterful and cheerful, especially on the nose. Try it with a fruit pudding.
12 Years Old
Standard (Distillery or blended)
Nose: Grassy and flowery. A hint of peat. Butterscotch. Pears poached in cinnamon syrup. Wood stays in the background, never overwhelming. Liquorice. Expressive.
Palate: Crispy and cool. Opens up with sweet notes. Honey. Beeswax. Raisin buns just out of the oven.
Finish: Clean, warm and spicy.
Comment: Quite characterful and cheerful, especially on the nose. Try it with a fruit pudding.
Nose: Alight, ‘airy’ nose which reminds me of high moorland: heathery, gentle and fragrant. Quite delicate.
Palate: Dry with a soft mid-palate. Grows very nicely in the mouth building in sweetness and juicyness. Some elegance.
Finish: Sweet and quite long with a hint of sultana.
Comment: At its best neat.
