Nose
Crisp, with delicate cereal notes of shortbread, barley sugar, cornflakes and vanilla sponge. Light diacetyl notes of buttermilk and walnut cream.
Palate
Light bodied with citrus Moffat Toffee, hints of marzipan icing, caramel sauce and oxidised sliced apples.
Finish
It becomes drying and astringent in the finish with pistachio and green notes like capsicum, clove and pine too.
Comment
Toffee and apples aren’t the most obscure Highland whisky flavours, but this delivers them very well.
