A bit of a let-down, if I’m honest.

Nose: Very pleasing peat, but ultimately it becomes dominated by citrus – limes. Green tea, floral honey, olive oil. Toffee fudge. That peat turns ashy.
Palate: The peat isn’t anywhere near as pleasant: ashy stuff, blackened toast. There’s a nice maltiness to this, again with citrus, but it’s rather basic grassy, straw-like vanilla notes underneath.
Finish: Short, creamy, oily, but with prickly black pepper and cloves taking it down a dark path.
Comment: A bit of a let-down, if I’m honest.

Taster
Nose: Deeply earthy, distant peat and tobacco leaves. Fresh cricket bats and sweet butterscotch. Sugary cereal and almond milk. Menthol, lemon posset pudding and rindless marmalade.
Palate: Gentle citrus, lemons and orange, wrapped in a lovely peat. Light wrapper cigar smoke, fresh flapjacks, trail mix and lime peel infused sea salt.
Finish: Smokey black tea and almond milk. Long and lovely with waves of peat.
Comment: Gentle and shy at first, then reveals a full of character. Excellent stuff.
Score: 9.1
