Nose
Very pleasing peat, but ultimately it becomes dominated by citrus – limes. Green tea, floral honey, olive oil. Toffee fudge. That peat turns ashy.
Palate
The peat isn’t anywhere near as pleasant: ashy stuff, blackened toast. There’s a nice maltiness to this, again with citrus, but it’s rather basic grassy, straw-like vanilla notes underneath.
Finish
Short, creamy, oily, but with prickly black pepper and cloves taking it down a dark path.
Comment
A bit of a let-down, if I’m honest.
