Nose

Bright, salty iodine — immediately at the seaside with waves crashing past. Scent is softened by a vanilla note, alongside marshmallows and cooked pears.

Palate

Chewy, mineral note, with lots of smoke, citrus peel (lemons and oranges), seaweed, wet rocks, Victoria sponge, and bananas. Punchy but well balanced.

Finish

Lengthy finish ­— the smoke goes on and on, and there is some good sweetness too.

Comment

A big, punchy Islay whisky that retains an element of freshness.
