I didn’t know what to make of this but it was oddly likeable.

Nose: A very sweet nose of Tarte Tatin, and uncooked pastry with almond extract. Fresh pear and green grape. Pear drops, moss and aniseed with water.
Palate: Intensely sweet with a gummy texture. Mead, honey, apple and tinned pear juice. Boiled sweets and Big Red gum. Lemon syrup.
Finish: Soft and very coating on the tongue. Not like any whisky I have tasted!
Comment: I didn’t know what to make of this but it was oddly likeable.

Nose: Intensely fruity. Plum (greengage) and plum almond with sweet honey at the back. Obviously a liquor. Hard to detect any whisky behind. There is a floral note too.
Palate: Sweet and bitter. The same strong almond note but with some liquorice and something else. Maybe an unusual berry. Reminding of cough losanges.
Finish: Quickly vanishing. Slightly sugary.
Comment: An unusual profile for a whisky liquor. The nose and palate made me think of holly eau-de-vie or some old plum (vieille prune) liquor.
Score: 7.5
