Nose
An odd nose, slightly sour, then caramel and pine. Vanilla with more floral notes as it opens. Needs time, becomes more gentle and appealing. After ten minutes though, still a sweaty pineapple note.
Palate
Fairly hot for the ABV. Lots of prickle at the front of the tongue. Pears, oak and caramel covered apples with some marzipan thrown in.
Finish
Medium length finish. Notes of apples come through. And slight, dry bitterness.
Comment
Slightly puzzling at first but grew on me as I let it air.
