Taster

Nose: Leaf mulch and coffee grinds, maple syrup and toasted hazelnuts. Plenty of oak and wood influence here too with pencil boxes and cedar chests. A little fruit comes in at the end.

Palate: Hints of Christmas fruit cake and sherry, then the spices start to come through with cinnamon and a little cumin. Black banana and maraschino cherry finish things off.

Finish: Warm and long with those autumnal notes dominating.

Comment: Such a big whiskey, this is one for savouring.

Taster

Nose: There’s a bitterness with torched orange peel, grated nutmeg and stewed peppermint tea leaves. Mangos in syrup, lemon curd, icing sugar, fruit pastilles and some toasted rosemary.

Palate: Charred rosemary, pork crackling and bursts of fruit juice, quickly followed by the bitter texture of roasted coffee.

Finish: A bitterness with coffee and chalky textures yet lightened with crisp floral notes.

Comment: Chalky, bitter and sweet fruits. A rollercoaster for the senses.
