Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Fresh peat, an edge of old batteries and sweet potato fries. Then comes peach and pear in syrup, nutmeg, milky Weetabix and a dusting of icing sugar.

Palate: Resinous, then smoky peat, almost mechanical. Savoury pie crust, hazelnuts, almond oil and cardamom spice.

Finish: Bitter and lightly vegetal notes linger.

Comment: A nice sipper, balanced and you can certainly taste the spirit.

Score: 7.9

Taster

Nose: Cinder toffee and pear liqueur, wafts of subtle wood smoke are joined by poached apple flan with nutmeg and custard. A touch of fondant candy sweetness too.

Palate: Medium-full bodied. Heaps of orchard fruits are joined by subtle iodine and menthol, anise and blueberry. A bittersweet vegetal note of green bell pepper brings up the rear.

Finish: Medium-long, caramel notes fade leaving green elements.

Comment: A solid sipper for the days when a touch of smoke is called for.
