Nose
Intense aromas! Peaches and cream, with dried apricots and pouring honey. Apple pie and vanilla custard. Almonds. Lime marmalade with a touch of mango chutney.
Palate
Not as exciting, but vibrant and different – mango and lime marmalade. Grapefruits and pineapple, but held in check by aggressive wood tannins. Lovely viscosity though.
Finish
Reasonably long, but the flavours fade quickly leaving a vegetative bitterness.
Comment
It feels like there’s a lot of this type of whisky about at the moment.
