Nose: Earthy and spicy, black pepper and liquorice. Corn on the cob and freshly cut pine, popcorn, orange sauce, gherkin and black tea.
Palate: Savoury, spicy and sweet, with dusty corn on the cob, popcorn, dark chocolate-covered rice cakes, beer, salted caramel and paprika. Eucalyptus and pine trees notes in the background.
Finish: More dusty character, this time as hay, with menthol, violets and chocolate.
Comment: Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a high proportion of corn in this mash bill! Once you pop…

Taster
Nose: Glacé cherries with dried apricots and plenty of herbal influence – tarragon and bay leaves. Baked sponge cake – though with ground almonds. Golden syrup and strawberry jam.
Palate: Heavy doses of vanilla with an undeniable note of cough syrup. Herbal element is present, with vegetative qualities, underneath a sticky blackcurrant coulis.
Finish: Black tea and Jammy Dodgers, but a woody, tannic bitterness tarnishes the final notes.
Comment: Once the cough syrup is realised, it cannot be untasted.
Score: 7.3
