Nose

Dense and thick, fleshy fruit and lightly sawdusty oak. The oak powers through with clotted cream and toffee, but the grapefruit counters. Pepper, spicy liquorice and a touch of honey come through.

Palate

Fresher and displaying more barley and crisp citrus notes. The oak sits pliantly in the background. Lovely peppery and spicy middle with the oils balancing the citrus.

Finish

Good length. The citrus and alcohol make it dry but a light herbal honey note lingers.

Comment

The nose initially feels a little lumpen but give it some time and aeration.
