Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Dry and slightly plain. Light smoke, grass, but also a lemon cleaning product edge. Light rubber (perhaps indicative of an immature peaty spirit).

Palate: Warm milk, light chocolate, then berries and that lemon note. Fine grip, cold tea. A bit more oak interaction, though still slightly thin.

Finish: Lightly peppery.

Comment: Good smokiness but seems to lack impetus.

Score: 7.7

Taster

Nose: Grassy, sweet. Citrussy. Lemon pulp. Vanilla biscuits. Squeezed orange juice. Lots of sweet aromas. Distant smoke.

Palate: Smooth, silky. Sweet at start then followed by dry soot.Fresh mintiness. Spices tease the tongue and dry the palate. More soot than smoke.

Finish: Dry and sooty.

Comment: So funny to have this trio of Laphroaig. This one definitely stays on the sweet side and seems reluctant to release its smoke.
