Rich and heavy. Plenty of nutty sherry-derived notes. It's good but just lacks complexity.

Taster

Nose: Dry, savoury/wooded notes though there's some butter that softens things a little. A mix of walnut, cherryade and clootie dumpling.

Palate: Powerful, intense and full-bodied with a leathery tone. Sweet. Solid ripe and rich.

Finish: Almost tarry. Marmite.

Comment: Rich and heavy. Plenty of nutty sherry-derived notes. It's good but just lacks complexity.

Score: 7.3

Taster

Nose: Raspberry vinegar. Winey. A fruity, French Syrah, perhaps?

Palate: Firm, sweetly fruity. Extraordinarily so. Kumquats. Brown sugar. Crêpes Suzette.

Finish: Crème Anglaise. Vanilla. Oak.

Comment: Extraordinarily red colour. The sweetness is almost overwhelming. The ultimate dessert whisky.
