I’m always very here for a sweet and smoky whiskey. It could have had a little more complexity leading into the finish, but still very sippable.
American Single Malt – Peated Malt
No age statement
Standard (Distillery or blended)
Nose: Reminds me of a beautiful whiskey margarita I tried once, with syrupy peach notes and a light sweet smokiness.
Palate: Follows through nicely from the nose, developing into barbequed orchard fruit, homemade vanilla custard and some peppery spice.
Finish: Medium finish with more of that peppery spice lingering.
Comment: I’m always very here for a sweet and smoky whiskey. It could have had a little more complexity leading into the finish, but still very sippable.
Nose: Cigar tobacco, liquorice stick, tamarind, dried orange, bay leaf, thyme, caramel coffee chocolates, seeded wholemeal bread, and beef stock.
Palate: Light-medium bodied. Plum wine, roasted pineapple syrup, pine nuts, wholemeal bread, sunflower seeds, apricot jam, clove, and some bitter lemon zest.
Finish: Medium. Cola cube and orange oils linger.
Comment: A complex and mature dram on the drier side of the spectrum.
