Such a flavoursome whisky. Not perfect, not overly complex, but a fun dram.

Taster

Nose: Marvellously rich dried fruits and black fruits: from raisins and figs into blackcurrants, blackberries, with cranberry sauce. Hints of game meat, with spiced chutney.

Palate: Intensely fruity: raisins, sultanas with elderberry, Port-like. Molasses. Muscovado sugar. Malt loaf. Tartness – sharp redcurrants and blackcurrants.

Finish: Chewy, balsamic vinegar and elderberries. Ginger.

Comment: Such a flavoursome whisky. Not perfect, not overly complex, but a fun dram.

Score: 8.3

Taster

Nose: Seriously fruity under the alcohol, a little nail polish remover. Plenty of citrus fruit, that moment someone peels an orange next to you. Fig Newtons and those white chewy mints.

Palate: Bags of spice, salt and chili shrimp – the little ones that soak up the flavouring. A drop of water opens up a huge floral note and a hit of barley sugar.

Finish: A little pot pourri and lots of creamy oak.

Comment: Great stuff here, a little drop of water opens it out a treat.
