Taster

Nose: Peaty with a slight rubbery note. A mix of smoke and turf. On time a floral note. Violet. Liquorice.

Palate: Sweet at first then drying on spices. Sweet liquorice. Very refreshing. Developing into a spicy fizz. Ginger ale. The smoke perceived on the nose does not show on the palate.

Finish: Medium. Soothing on more liquorice. Faint smoke.

Comment: Well balanced, clean. A pleasant malty core and an appetising freshness.

Taster

Nose: Huge, complex and mature. Coal smoke mixed with oil/candle wax and wet leaves in a churchyard by the sea. A feral edge is tempered by sweet, almost luscious fruits. The wood is playing a supporting role.

Palate: Big, slow and oily. Old orange, pipe tobacco and quince. The citric lift\rbalances the briny notes. Muscular.

Finish: Long, rich and smokily fat, seal blubber on an oil stove?

Comment: This will be recognised as one of the finest Brora bottlings. Snap it up.
