Taster
Nose: Ikea warehouse, vanilla ice cream and the immediate fizz from a freshly poured glass of lemonade. A hint of blood orange, too.
Palate: A delicate and fresh palate which takes time to fully deliver any flavour but when it does, rays of sunshine in the form of fresh orange juice, black tea and white chocolate shine through.
Finish: A surprisingly spicy finish which doesn’t quite match the nose and palate but is pleasant none-the-less.
Comment: A mixed bag, but good.
Score: 7.9
Taster
Nose: Cleaner, with a definite sugary, malty note. Barley sugar, sweetened cornflakes and a large waft of toasted vanilla round this out.
Palate: Drier than its siblings, but the oakiness hasn’t dominated. Notes of liquorice, a touch of anise, some creamy vanilla custard and a little fresh raspberry bring back the fresh notes.
Finish: Green apple skins and some lingering oaky dryness.
Comment: These whiskies are like healthy restorative smoothies, with a side order of pick-me-up old fashioned sweet shop sweets.
Score: 8.1
