A strange fellow. Unusual earthiness close to mustiness but an enticing teaser with refreshing rusticity.

Nose: Biscuity and floral. Roses and carnations. Peppery as well. Fresh squeezed lemon.
Palate: Unexpectedly sweet at first, then displaying a spicy oakiness. Musty notes and a seaweedy taste. Candied ginger and Tabasco.
Finish: Dry, earthy and spicy.
Comment: A strange fellow. Unusual earthiness close to mustiness but an enticing teaser with refreshing rusticity.
Score: 7.8
Taster
Nose: Tense. Steely and austere with touches of rubber and putty. With water some nut shells and biscuit/cardboard.
Palate: The heat of alcohol hides some sweetness in centre (again). Dry and dusty. Water takes it into green bean territory, but not a lot going on.
Finish: Firm.
Comment: Another that fails to deliver. Needs more time in cask.
Score: 6.8
