Tasting Notes

Dave Broom

Taster

Nose: Understated and buttery. There's vanilla slice/custard, soft silky fruits, some nuttiness.

Palate: That buttery quality continues: mellow and honeyed, like soft toffee cream, then crisps up towards the finish.

Finish: Spice and harder than you'd initially expect.

Comment: Rye bite with butter and vanilla coating. Cowboy Junkies.

Score: 7.8

Taster

Nose: Drier, pruney, slightly medicinal.

Palate: Rounded. Tightly interlocked flavours.

Finish: Milk chocolate. Sweet. By far the biggest finish in this group of Canadian Clubs.

Comment: That medicinal touch gives this whisky an appetising edge.
