Nose: Sherry, pineappple, lemon peel and spice.
Palate: Sherry sweetness, cooked pineapple and an all-spice character. A good chunky texture.
Finish: Lightly spicy, with a fatty edge.
Comment: Put off slightly by a fatty edge, but otherwise a balanced and satisfying malt.

Taster
Nose: Hazy (even without water). Peeled turnip, herbal. Smoke, sulphur/struck match and in time some inner tube. Estery.
Palate: Off-dry. Seems to have distinct zones: a sweet bit, a coal-like smoky bit and a dry, structured bit. Spicy, better than the nose. Plump.
Finish: Sweet and long.
Comment: The elements are fighting against each other rather than pulling together. Needs something to bind them in...or time to marry?
Score: 7
