Difficult to sense the sauternes cask influence. Maybe some added sweetness but the aromas are not precise. A pleasant dram though.

Taster

Nose: Oaky. Fresh oak, sawdust. Medlars. Dry apple skin. Hint of shoe polish. Touch of apricot. Digestive biscuit. A faint sulphur note.

Palate: Smooth and round. Oak is better integrated than on the nose. Butterscotch. A slight salty note. Touch of marshmallow.

Finish: Sweet and slightly spicy.

Comment: Difficult to sense the sauternes cask influence. Maybe some added sweetness but the aromas are not precise. A pleasant dram though.

Score: 7.6

Taster

Nose: Bags of fresh cut oak at the front. Just a hint of apricot and dried fruit. Slightly malty with a suggestion of matchbox.

Palate: The oak drops back to reveal a caramel and creamy note.

Finish: Spiced and delightful.

Comment: A decent dram indeed but the sauternes influence seems to be definitely on the back seat.
