So different to the Douglas Laing Clynelish. The perfect whisky with farm cheeses.

Nose: Cheerful. Lots of butterscotch. A sweet grassy profile. Dry hay. Toasted buns.
Palate: Rich and sweet with a fresh lemony touch. Malt sugar. Honeyed cornflakes.
Finish: Long and warm. Crushed almonds. Green cardamom.
Comment: So different to the Douglas Laing Clynelish. The perfect whisky with farm cheeses.

Taster
Nose: Rich, fat, oily/waxy. Ripe, soft fruits, fruit jelly, pork fat, and also honey on buttered white loaf. Big, oily (waxed jackets/wet kelp), toasty. Gutsy.
Palate: Great texture with a slight (balanced) toastiness. Soft orangey fruit. The oily/waxy feel smooths it all together. Rich and mouthfilling.
Finish: Long and lush.
Comment: Very good with a slight maritime edge.
Score: 8
