A distinguished expression of sweet Oloroso, even if it seems a bit ostentatious on the palate. For afterdinner enjoyment.

Taster

Nose: Nutty and spicy. Dominated but not drowned in sherry. Cherries in chocolate. Dried fruit. Kumquat.

Palate: Sherry leads the way. Candied chestnut. Fudge. Leather.

Finish: Robust. Warm. Spicy.

Comment: A distinguished expression of sweet Oloroso, even if it seems a bit ostentatious on the palate. For afterdinner enjoyment.

Score: 7.8

Taster

Nose: Sweet with toasted nuts, dried fruits and spices. Some light oaky tones and bracken. Water makes it slightly more fragrant: sweet hay, flowers, more spice.

Palate: A sweet yet savoury start. Caramelised fruit and nut. A good, quite chewy mid-palate but all very nicely underplayed.

Finish: Soft, hay-like.

Comment: A cracking Bladnoch. Let's have more like this.
