A very gentle and fruity whisky. Would have benefited from a balancing dryness.

Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Biscuity, buttery. Apple jelly. Like walking in an orchard in September and stamping on fruit fallen from the tree, dried leaves and wet grass.

Palate: Oily, thick, very sweet. Autumn fruit syrup. Apples, a touch of quince. Wood well integrated.

Finish: Sweet, with a slight dry spiciness. Some nuttiness maybe.

Comment: A very gentle and fruity whisky. Would have benefited from a balancing dryness.

Score: 7.8

Taster

Nose: Broad. Dried mango, light cereal, furniture polish. Very soft and fruity. Slightly dulled by water.

Palate: Macadamia nut and cooked apple toasted almond and then into black fruit.

Finish: Dries suddenly.

Comment: Starts out as a great big floppy Labrador of a whisky, then there’s an abrupt change in gear towards the finish.
