Nose

Very rich and brooding, this whisky — like a damp, rainy autumn day in the Highlands. Prunes and pecans.

Palate

Loads of dark chocolate — both cocoa and in solid form. Some more nuts — this time, walnuts as it’s more bitter than the nose — and a thick sweetness to balance that out.

Finish

A bit of heat at the front of the palate with a lasting bitterness along the edges.

Comment

This one would warm me through on a dreich day — I want to snuggle up with it on a sofa.
