Nose: Huge layers of floral, fragrant and aromatic notes. A florist's shop in the height of summer. Then dried herbs, cumin and paprika. A cracked black pepper hit, then the oak takes over.
Palate: Rich and dense, plenty going on here. Those heady floral notes are still here, mingling with toffee and vanilla. A fresh cut ginger root and a herbal quality.
Finish: Very indulgent, rich and then dries with plenty of spice.
Comment: A really lovely moreish drop with so much going on.
Score: 8.6
Taster
Nose: Jam-packed with notes of fresh green apple, sugared macadamia nuts and underripe banana skin, followed by white chocolate Bounty bars and mint strawberry smoothies.
Palate: Banana nut loaf straight out of the oven, topped with toasted rosemary, vanilla and cinnamon custard with hints of fruit gums.
Finish: Warming to start with, which is quickly followed by a nutty finish drying the palate.
Comment: Walking through the farmers' market, with fruit and pastries filling the air in the morning.
Score: 8.1
