Tasting Notes

Dave Broom

Taster

Nose: Pungent, intense, marine-like, a sweet minty note backed with a touch of lanolin. Good balance, with some creamy popcorn notes.

Palate: Fragrant but almost friable character: cashew, brittle toffee. Peat smoke, light nuttiness.

Finish: Honey, then ash.

Comment: Good balance. Doesn't like water. Start here.

Taster

Nose: Roses, heavy musk, damp conifers and bog.

Palate: Very soft, round and complex. The flavours are hard to unpick, but there's warm honey, buttered crumpet and a hint of sweet pipe smoke.

Finish: Long and chewy.

Comment: This is a bottling of 28 casks of the 1991 vintage, so it is particularly rare an therefore collectible. When it's gone. It's gone.
