Esters galore and another that’s just too young.
Double Malt Whisky
No age statement
Standard (Distillery or blended)
Nose: Very sweet and slightly buttery, then a grappa-like immaturity. All pear drops and bananas. Unbalanced distillation wise.
Palate: Thin and though clean has an aggressive quality. Water calms this down but also reduces the flavour to nothing bar a slightly buzzy quality.
Comment: Esters galore and another that’s just too young.
Nose: Glue. Vanilla. Sweet biscuits.
Palate: Not pleasant with an aggressive quality.
Comment: Disappoints after initial hope from the nose.
