Nose: Rich honey and treacle cake, pineapple upside down cake. A little floral note with roses outside the window. The lawn just mown in the summer. Strawberries and cream.
Palate: Light and gentle at first. Lovely sweetness of orange and brown sugar. In time a little bitterness, just briefly then caramel and honeycomb toffee. Some acidity here too.
Finish: Quite long and sweet with chilli heat building all the time, gripping more by the second.
Comment: Light and delicate but hides its punch well. Great stuff.
Score: 8.7
Taster
Nose: Soft and herbal with aromas of dried mango, rum ‘n’ raisin fudge, fresh lillies and pickled beetroot slices. Delicate pineapple marshmallows appear with a can of cream soda as well.
Palate: Light and airy with grape juice, cucumber infused water and a whole lot of fruit salad. Honeydew melon, almond croissants with icing sugar and a freshly brewed cuppa’.
Finish: Short and abrupt with just a hint of a fruity cider finish.
Comment: Soft and delicate just like your favourite teddy bear. Reliable and comforting.
Score: 7.9
