Almost too perfect. Beautifully put together, but not quite memorable.
16 Years Old
Standard (Distillery or blended)
Nose: Clean. Sweetish. Pronounced barley sugar. Some sherry.
Palate: Medium-bodied. Very smooth indeed. Clean, malty, nutty.
Finish: Nice balance of fragrant smoky dryness.
Comment: Almost too perfect. Beautifully put together, but not quite memorable.
Nose: Spicy oak tones along with fig rolls, soft baked fruit, Dundee cake and roasted walnut. Hint of rubber.
Palate: Soft, but the weighty spirit holds its own pretty well against the pretty assertive wood. A big fruity boy.
Finish: Tight and a little tannic.
Comment: Substantial. One for a cigar.
