Taster

Nose: Darker in colour. Full and wooded. Powdered rye, light hint of beeswax, rye bread, melting chocolate, camphor. Becomes fruitier in time. Bittersweet and complex.

Palate: Assertive. High acidity and grip. Fruit-filled mid-palate. Bold rye kick, that mix of rhubarb bitterness and a nodule of sweetness giving balance.

Finish: Long and very spicy.

Comment: Big and inviting but with a dangerous gleam in the eye. Now who does that sound like?

Taster

Nose: Polished ceder chests, bags of chocolate and plenty of wood. Toffee notes with dark demerera sugar. A little citrus develops over time.

Palate: This one grabs your tonsils. Big hit of rye towards the end where there is also a bitter sweet note. Morish.

Finish: Long and the rye keeps giving.

Comment: I remember the first time I had this. You could smell the rye from across the room as it was poured.
