Nose

A funky first impression of red wine must and wet forest floor, but with dense raspberry and blackcurrant jam. As it settles things turn toward wood polish, leather and sticky dried fruit: figs, prunes and dark cherries.

Palate

As rich and deep as the nose suggests, with that earthiness alongside morello cherry, liquorice, blackcurrants, dark chocolate, and bitter walnut skin.

Finish

Earthy still, all liquorice and sticky figs.

Comment

One to enjoy with a generous wedge of chocolate cake.
