Nose: Medium weight and sweet with a hint of camomile, grass, bourbon biscuit and, with water, American oak. Brioche, honey/beeswax and caramelised pear.
Palate: Sweet and tongue-clinging. Jasmine, the pears once more alongside cling peaches in thick juice. More concentrated than the nose but with enough structure to balance.
Finish: Clean sweet good.
Comment: A very fine example from an under-rated distillery.
Score: 8.6
Taster
Nose: Almost mead like, honey, dried mango and apricots, some fig after a while. A good hit of vanilla too.
Palate: Big oak hit with that vanilla sweetness coating the tongue. Tropical fruits come through.
Finish: Drying and warm.
Comment: Summer time has arrived, now in a glass. A delightful dram.
Score: 8.1
