Nose: High oak notes. Starts tight and slightly citric and grassy then into fir and deepens to cooked fruits, plasticene and a heavy floral perfume (iris/lily).
Palate: Good depth. Sweet fruitiness-apple juice, nutty. Increasingly firm and oaky.
Finish: Dry, nutty.
Comment: Shows good complexity, just tipped slightly into the oak camp.
Score: 7.8
Taster
Nose: Appetising. Delicate. Lightly malty sweetness blending into slight smokiness.
Palate: A rush of spring water, then sticky. Juicy. Fruity.
Finish: Lively. Explosion of spiciness. Hot.
Comment: Whatever its age, this whisky is full of youthful vigour.
