ABV 46%
An enticing whisky. Rich without ostentation, sweet without excess. With a luscious nutty finish. I’d love it with coffee.

Nose: Oaky and nutty. Dry walnut. Coffee beans. Hint of liquorice.
Palate: Soft and velvety. The same nutty character with candied orange. Nutmeg and star anise. A definite sherry influence. More liquorice.
Finish: Still sweet but lingering a dry oak note.
Comment: An enticing whisky. Rich without ostentation, sweet without excess. With a luscious nutty finish. I’d love it with coffee.

Taster
Nose: Oily, with a quick smear of suntan lotion leading into very milky coffee, soft brown sugar and thick, dark liquorice.
Palate: As big in the mouth as on the nose. Huge Demerara sugar notes, malt extract, tobacco leaf and a dusting of nutmeg. It’s sweet, but has an underlying toasted earthiness as well.
Finish: The dark brown sugar notes don’t leave much room for anything else, but it’s very distinct and defined.
Comment: If this had a voice, it would be James Earl Jones, reading you a bedtime story. Rich, resonant and perfect at the end of the evening.
Score: 8.3
