A pleasant springtime dram. Easy and enticing. But it needs water to be rounded up.

Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Light, floral and fresh. Juicy apples wrapped in a veil of smoke. An earthy note, like a flower garden after a summer rain. Marshmallows.

Palate: Sweet and refreshing. The same sensation as on the nose.Light fruit, vanilla syrup. Star anise. The smoke is more in the back with a sooty touch.

Finish: Fruity, drying on lemon peel.

Comment: A pleasant springtime dram. Easy and enticing. But it needs water to be rounded up.

Taster

Nose: Quite crisp and briny but the oils give the nose a feeling of density. Faintly astringent peat, seaweed and bog myrtle appears as does some brine laden fruit.

Palate: Quite soft and subtle. The oils are more dominant than the nose would suggest which dampens the palate. A touch of coastal peat. Seaweed and brine does come through.

Finish: Surprisingly alcoholic, but it’s not too intrusive as the oils counter balance. Finishes with some tarry-peat, violets and oily fruit.\n

Comment: Back end loaded with almost all of the character coming through on the finish.
