Tasting Notes

Dave Broom

Taster

Nose: A real nut-bowl aroma: almond, hazelnut and some creamy brazil, as well as a hint of marzipan and wholemeal maltiness. In time a toffee note. Mid-weight.

Palate: Lovely weight and feel with a spicy nuttiness. Softens as it moves in the mouth.

Finish: Nutty with decent length.

Comment: A good, mid-weight nutty style.

Score: 7.8

Taster

Nose: Flowery, light and scented. Distinctive nuttiness. Juicy apples. Restrained spices (nutmeg).

Palate: Smooth and mellow. Good balance. Lots of marzipan.

Finish: Unexpectedly dry, rather short. Crisp, slightly bitter. Warms up with spicy notes.

Comment: To be served with an apple and hazelnut crumble. Classic, nothing really exciting, but a good Speyside character.
