Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Soft, rounded and fruity, with orange and mandarin.

Palate: A lovely full mouth feel but still gentle and exquisite. Like a fruit cordial but\rwith enough earthy spicy notes to give it some depth.

Finish: The mixed spices and fruit combine pleasantly for a medium finish.

Comment: This distillery has always been capable of greatness. Maybe this will kick-start a comeback under the new (ish) owners.

Score: 8.2

Taster

Nose: A substantial mix of pressed hedgerow fruits, cooked nettles, scented woods and some whisky rancio.

Palate: Needs water to reveal some real complexity. Gentle fruity touches -\rraspberry jam skimmings, ice cream, butterscotch and a pleasing\rbitterness. Elegant and old.

Finish: Minty.

Comment: An exemplary old gently matured whisky.
