Has this grain whisky matured in a rum cask? Intensely rum-like. The cereal profile is somewhat masked on the palate.

Taster

Nose: Prickly. Buttery and biscuity. A mix of shortbread and oatcakes. A pleasant citrus note. Vanilla comes in a wave, followed by fruit.

Palate: Velvety. Sweet Demerara with a spicy dryness in the back. Tastes like a rum!

Finish: Dry and spicy. Quite fizzy. Grated ginger.

Comment: Has this grain whisky matured in a rum cask? Intensely rum-like. The cereal profile is somewhat masked on the palate.

Taster

Nose: Clean and sweet (though with high nose burn) moving into butterscotch, pineapple, green almond. Improves in the glass: sweet caramel, toffee, honey and banana.

Palate: Immediate perfumed hit: rose, apple skin, mango, orange smarties, with lightly gripping oak on sides of tongue giving good structure.

Finish: Pineapple returns.

Comment: A classy package.
