Solid in its flavours. Takes a while to tease things out. One to savour and study.

Nose: Quite punchy sherry notes straight off, alcohol makes itself known, then raisins and stewed prunes. Browning apple cores. Varnished tables and a little leather. Red apples, floral blossom, maple syrup.
Palate: Sweet, then a violet note creeps in. Coconut macaroons and dark bitter chocolate with a touch of Tabasco. Cider poached pears.
Finish: Long building tannins, followed by cooling Oolong tea.
Comment: Solid in its flavours. Takes a while to tease things out. One to savour and study.

Taster
Nose: Barbequed watermelon slices, freshly baked pain au chocolats and strawberry bon bons. Warm and enticing with bridal slices, treacle and green apple skin.
Palate: Bitter-sweet symphony notes of stewed rhubarb and freshly brewed coffee, surrounded by floral bouquets. A hint of acetone and overripe bananas washed down with strawberry and basil lemonade.
Finish: Hints of paracetamol creating a bitter edge.
Comment: A bakery and florist all rolled into one place.
Score: 8.8
