Has some of the swagger of youth, but there is a depth here too. Take your time as this is rewarding.

Nose: Oak and vanilla right off the bat. A little charred oak, then fresh dark fruits – blackberries, plums and blackcurrants. A meaty edge, salted pastrami and air-dried hams.
Palate: Plenty of sweetness here, chocolate-covered Kendal Mint cake, marinated and spicy figs too. That meaty edge comes through here too.
Finish: Turns spicy with white pepper, then slowly dries with a buttery pastry oiliness.

Nose: Sherbety and sweet, like a cloud of confectioner’s sugar. There are so many fruit-flavoured candies, from lemon sherbets to strawberry and lime Starburst, that I imagine this is what a sweet factory smells like.
Palate: Creamy, sweet and shy at first, but those fruits just build into an avalanche of candied tropical yumminess. There’s a spicy maltiness that keeps things grounded.
Finish: Long and fruity, full of pineapple and toasted coconut.
Comment: If ever a whisky could emulate a Pina Colada on its own...
