Nose: Sweetness is dark, almost burnt sugar, hints of sea salt caramel and black liquorice. Then sweet digestive biscuits with butter and melted dark chocolate entering.
Palate: Everything stays dark and liquorice like. Dates and plum pudding. There’s almost a temple incense note here. Then the oak tannins take over.
Finish: Big and bold, slowly dries bit by bit.
Comment: This whisky leaves you reeling, but also wanting more.

Taster
Nose: There are hints of crystalised ginger, chamomile and lily pollen tickling the nose hairs, with Edinburgh rock, candy floss and Dr. Pepper added into the mix.
Palate: Hot sticky gingerbread cake drizzled with lemon icing sugar, macaroon bars and dark chilli chocolate. The same prickly heat that you get from hot car leather and sandalwood.
Finish: Hot and spicy with the sandalwood drying out the palate.
Comment: Eating gingerbread in a sauna. Why wouldn’t you?!
Score: 8.9
