Nose: Intense. Tangy. Paint varnish. Sour fruit. Damson plum jam. A musty note of damp floor in an abandoned house.

Palate: Briefly sweet then a sharp alcohol bite. A powerful wood and sour fruit combination of flavours. But quite well integrated given the strength.

Finish: Dry. Prunes and liquorice.

Comment: A big, muscular bourbon. George T. Stagg? Good guess...For a stag night maybe...

Nose: Oak varnish, cherry pie, a little black treacle. A burnt orange tang adds to the complexity.

Palate: An explosion of flavours, cherries, fizzy sour sweets, oak sweetness, BBQ sauce.

Finish: Memorable with a sweet meaty element.

Comment: Wonderful, the balance does not give away its strength.
