Taster

Nose: A warm toasty nose of tea infused figs, dates and plums. Ginger jam and membrillo with malted loaf. Lots of sherry over time.

Palate: Toasted Jamaica loaf, more sultanas and raisins. Crème brûlée with sweet spices. A hint of struck match and warm rubber.

Finish: Robust, long and velvety.

Comment: It’s a big bear hug of a whisky for those sherry lovers.

Score: 8.1

Taster

Nose: Restrained. Slightly fungal. With a sour/dour note. Old cider. A musty touch. In the back, a sweet vanilla aroma. On time roasted coffee beans.

Palate: Crisp and sour. Oaky and spicy. A tangy feel on the tongue. Oak is dominating.

Finish: Medium long with an astringent note. Walnut skin.

Comment: This whisky lacks balance. The alcohol is fairly well mastered but the sherry influence is too oak centered. The palate is disappointing.
