Taster

Nose: Surprisingly etheric for a malt this age with a peculiar plasticene like waxiness. A light brushing of smoke balances the vanilla.

Palate: Big, fat start with an oily peatiness undulating in intensity as a leathery, beeswax like maltiness offers a wonderfully restrained sweetness.

Finish: Lengthy, a build up of vanilla tapers the dryness.

Comment: A lovely malt more delicious for its effect than its complexity.

Taster

Nose: Fresh leather. Attractive blend of sherry and peat.

Palate: Creamier. Raisiny. At this stage the sherry seems to find common cause with sweet, juicy oak. The peat emerges when water is added.

Finish: Teasing. Smoky, smooth.

Comment: A very sophisticated bottling. Perfect after a fine dinner.
