I was impressed by this. No individual star in the tasting notes, but a team effort to create the World Cup winner of whiskies. Is this the start of a \nnew era?

Taster

Nose: Light coffee notes, milk chocolate, condensed milk and toffee. Rather \nappealing, if not a little one dimensional.

Palate: Ooh, sweet brown sugar, treacle toffee, upside down cake and a distinctly rummy nature. Very tasty indeed.

Finish: More of the rum notes, this is balanced at the death by black tea.

Comment: I was impressed by this. No individual star in the tasting notes, but a team effort to create the World Cup winner of whiskies. Is this the start of a \nnew era?

Taster

Nose: Deep and mature with lightly floral honey coated dried fruit. Quite woody with plenty of coffee-tannins. Lightly treacly with camphor, thyme and milk chocolate plus a touch of sawdusty oak. A herbal almost grainy note appears with some earthy/sweet peat.

Palate: Deep and luscious with earthy honeycomb and treacle. Plenty of coffee-tannins and wood notes. Not as complex on the nose as the tannins take hold.

Finish: A little drying and bitter. The honey just hangs in there, balances. Lingering grainy note.

Comment: Superb nose but a very tannic palate.
