Fun little number, stylish – not 100 per cent convinced on the substance.

Nose: Maple syrup and intense perfume – jasmine and honeysuckle. Parmaviolets, with slight traces of fir trees. After the excitement; vanilla, toffee and apple notes.
Palate: Apricots, stewed apples, stem ginger and syrup. Orchard fruits. Baked sponge in custard. Nutmeg, milk chocolate, and orange. Sprig of mint.
Finish: Baked apples in syrup, but any flavours vanish as quickly as a sheepish one-night stand.
Comment: Fun little number, stylish – not 100 per cent convinced on the substance.

Taster
Nose: Hugely aromatic and floral scented. A flower shop in the heat of summer, roses, hyacinth, lavender and apple blossom. Vanilla pods, a little peach and caramel pennies.
Palate: The flavours pretty much follow the aromas, classic Speyside touches of apple skin, chocolate coated hazelnuts and honey. A hint of citrus too.
Finish: Swift and fruity with a little alcohol prickle.
Comment: Slightly let down by the swift finish, was expecting it to be long. A little water helps open out the aromatics.
Score: 7.8
