Nose
Despite the high ABV, this had a fairly gentle start on the nose. Lots of baked orange, leather books, plump cherries — it’s really juicy.
Palate
Chewy, with notes of raisins, almonds, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Some nice dark honey and liquorice there too. With water the mouthfeel becomes more silky, the sweetness increases, and notes of clove and toffee emerge.
Finish
Long and lingering, even more so with a dash of water.
Comment
Quite the beast, this whisky will keep you warm throughout winter.
